12/3 rides

A day with the year's best visibility after a "large" wind-event period made for some nice rides.

Walt brought his friend Dean down from the SF Bay area for individual Hollister Hop rides to 3250':

Walt went first and recorded the flight with one of today's marvelous devices:

Dean enjoyed flying the glider:

Zachary and his father Alan were next up for a Silver Hawk ride to 4750':

Lisa enjoyed flying over her workplace, a local school where she teaches, and Jonathan saw some the mountain roads where he bicycles.  Pretty neat from four thousand feet!

We watched from above as another glider was being towed up:

Kristina & David took a Hollister Hop and we discovered 2knot lift east of the airport and thermaled alone and then with another glider.

And we also saw another glider being towed out to the Henrietta Peak:

Back on the ground Dan Martin was getting ready to exercise Eddie Andrieni's newly restored P-51 Mustang!

Sanjana and Rohan were my last passengers for the day and wanted to see Monterey Bay from 6250' over Fremont Peak:

Here's my camera's view(wide angle) looking NW towards Santa Cruz:

And here is what San Juan Bautista looks like from up there:

After returning to the airport environment we found some nice 1-2knot lift and lazed about maintaining altitude and watching the airport activity. It is always very comforting to know you are not forced to land and that you can choose the time and place!
